Mill Dam Park

The park is located on Clarendon St. and offers a tranquil escape for visitors seeking both recreation and relaxation. From May – October, guests can enjoy camping with the convenience of electricity access, surrounded by lush green spaces and a gentle stream. The park also features a children’s splash pad and play modules, making it a family-friendly destination where kids can enjoy outdoor fun.

Fees and donations can be made at the Municipal Office at 350 Main Street during normal business hours. You can also pay online through the National Bank, Royal Bank or Caisse Populaire by adding us as a payee (search for Shawville). You will use Reference Number 5001 followed by zeros.

Shawville Fair Weekend

Camping reservations at Mill Dam Park are exceptionally allowed for Shawville Fair weekend. This is the Thursday to Monday of Labour Day weekend. For information and reservations, contact Collin Hines of the Shawville District Minor Hockey Association at 819-923-5791.

Other Parks

Veteran’s Memorial Park: The Veteran’s Memorial Park is located at Main and Clarendon Street. The park serves as a memorial to those that have fallen in battle, and to remember those that fight for our freedom each day.

Elwood Dale Park: The park is located at the end of Hillcrest Street, near the Pontiac High School, it is operated by the Shawville District Recreation Association. They oversee the baseball park, R.A. Hall, and play structures for children to use.

Shawville Events

From agricultural exhibits to thrilling rides and live entertainment, the Shawville Fair is an annual highlight for both the local community and visitors! We’ll see you at the Fair!

The Shawville Lions Country Jamboree, held annually in late July, showcases a fantastic array of local and international country music artists, drawing crowds for a weekend of music and fun.

Organizations & Tourism Resources

The museum welcomes visitors on weekends during the summer, on Canada Day, and during the Shawville Fair. The Society meets on the third Monday of every other month. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in local history. 

With sections of the 92km long bike path in Shawville paved to accommodate activities like rollerblading, the Cyclopark PPJ is a safe and accessible environment for all outdoor enthusiasts and visitors​​​.

Located in the Shawville Library building, the Pontiac Archives preserves our local heritage through dedicated volunteers who oversee the continued growth of an extensive collection of material.

Art Pontiac is a non-profit organization that supports the artistic and cultural community of the region. Art Pontiac often showcases local artists at Cafe349 in Shawville.
