Garbage Pickup
Services Offered: Weekly curb-side garbage collection.
Schedule: Every Tuesday (Starting March 2026, it will be alternating Tuesdays)
Requirements: Garbage must be in a bag in a closed bin, properly space otherwise bin won’t be picked up.
ALL GARBAGE AND RECYCLING MUST BE OUT BY 7:00 A.M. ON THE DAY OF PICK UP
Composting
Schedule: Every Tuesday.
Requirements: Composting must be in paper bags.
Recycling
Services Offered: Curbside recycling collection is available.
Schedule: Every Second Wednesday (Starting March 2026, it will be alternating Tuesdays
Requirements: Recycling must be in a closed bin, all loose, no plastic bags.
Yard Waste
Location: Shawville-Clarendon Tree Waste Disposal Site (C295, 8th Concession).
Open: Seasonally, starting May 7.
Hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Accepted Materials: Tree brush and branches.
Transfer Station - McGrimmon Cartage
Location: C384 7th Concession Road, Shawville. Contact: 819-647-2670.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Note: Scale closes at 3:45 PM for large loads).
- Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
- Sunday: Closed.
Closed On: New Year’s Day, Easter Monday, St. John the Baptist Day (June 24), Canada Day (July 1st), Labour Day, Thanksgiving Monday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day
