To the taxpayers of the Municipality of Shawville
Public Notice is hereby given by Crystal Webb, Secretary Treasurer/Director General of the Municipality of Shawville, that at the regular meeting of February 8th 2022 draft by law number 453 pertaining to the replacement of the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Elected Officials was deposit and By-Law number 454 pertaining to the Contract Management was deposit.
The purpose of By-Law 453 is to provide the main ethical values of the Municipality and the rules of conduct that must guide the conduct a person who is a member of council.
The purpose of By-Law 454 to provide for contract management measures for any contract to be concluded by the Municipality, including certain contracting rules for contracts involving an expense of at least $ 25,000 and below the threshold requiring an invitation for tender, this threshold being, since August 13, 2020, $105,700.00, and may be amended following the adoption by the Minister of a regulation to that effect.
Both draft by-laws will be adopted at the regular meeting of council on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Due to the restrictions, public participation in this meeting is prohibited however the draft by-laws may be reviewed by contacting the Municipal office by email at info@town.shawville.qc.ca. Comments must be received at the office by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 22, 2022.
